One of the buzzwords in new construction is "Structured wiring".

What is it and what does it mean?

You may already know that it is important to have for your current Media and communications such as:
Digital Cable, Satellite television, Digital Telephone, High speed Internet and Home office networking to name a few.

Although this is true there are other reasons to consider structured wiring in your home. One, it sets a high standard for the quality of cabling used, the amount of cabling and the method in witch it is installed. A second reason is expanding your system as more services become available now and in the future. Structured wiring systems dictate the use of a centralized "hub" usually located in the mechanical room of your house. All of the cabling is "home run" and housed in a cabinet. Inside the cabinet are modules that each wire connects to creating a network of wires. This makes it easy for any installer to understand, expand and service the system. A third reason is the systems integrity. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link. The same is true of a structured wiring system. All of the wire, jacks, modules Etc. must be of a certain quality in order to maintain the signal throughout the system. This is especially important as more services operate in the digital world. These are a few of the most important reasons to consider Structured Wiring in your new home. If you are interested, fill out the Structured wiring section of our questionnaire.
